Here at Capstone Seeds, we are celebrating big time. After a 2-year wait NAMPO is finally back and this year, the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest agricultural show is going to be even bigger and better than before. This year’s theme is “Experience it” and for the first time in history, NAMPO will be happening over 5 days from the 16th to the 20th of May.
NAMPO Park, Bothaville in the Free State, will once again be a hive of activity as it hosts Grain SA’s 54th NAMPO Harvest Day. We are exceptionally proud to be sharing this platform with all the other key role players within the Agricultural Sector. This event has become an integral part of our industry, showcasing the latest developments, innovations, technology, and products available to South African Farmers.
A key differentiator between NAMPO and other agricultural events is the broad approach NAMPO takes, as opposed to only focusing on specific areas within the farming industry. This year there are over 750 exhibitors, making it one of the most diversified trade exhibitions around. The interactive demonstrations, discussion panels, exhibits, and seed plots (of which we proudly have 2!!) provides a unique opportunity to gain fresh insights and ideas, enabling all NAMPO attendees to make better-informed decisions.
At Capstone Seed, we have a comprehensive seed portfolio and handle everything from pasture and forage seed to hybrid maize and a large variety of crop seeds, including Sunflower seeds, which have been adapted for a wide range of conditions. Our expert team continue to develop various cover crop mixes specifically to suite our farmer’s needs. We also handle varieties that have been bred by the likes of the Agricultural Council and Nelson Genetics to name a few. We only source seed from registered growers both locally and internationally and supply the South African and international market, exporting to over 30 countries. Staying true to our motto, “Breeding for climate change, the environment and the farmer".
As our Managing Director, Andrew Taylor says, “Our farmers are serious about farming; we are serious about seeds.” And that’s how everyone at Capstone Seeds feels, seeds are serious business. Our staff have been involved within the Seed and Agricultural Industry for over 25 years and have extensive knowledge and experience across every touchpoint of our business, from research through to production and marketing.
Every seed consignment that arrives at our factory is individually processed and tested internally at our in-house laboratory, as well as externally to ensure that we comply with our various buyers’ requirements.
We may be in the seed business, but relationships are the foundation of our business. We make it a priority to partner with our farmers and gain a clear understanding of their needs. We measure our success through the success of our farmers.
Be sure to meet our team at Nampo. We will be loud and proud at seed plots G30 and G31.
